Is it possible a k&n filter can stop a oil leak
The other day I noticed that my truck was not leaking oil anymore completely dry under there maybe someone can help is it because I flushed the engine and used a k&n oil filter 3001 this truck amazes me everytime!!!!!!!
If it stopped leaking then I would check to see if you have any oil left
. As poncho said if you were leaking from the oil filter or the drain plug then it is possible that the leak would have been plugged when you did the change. Also, I have heard that doing an engine flush (I assume you used ATF) will cause the seals to bulge slightly and therefore can plug a minor leak (dont hold me to this because I'm not sure if its true).
I would keep checking it though.......... don't assume that the leak has completely stopped.

Old worn out oil will leak.
If the old filter's rubber gasket was nicked during install then it will leak.
The filter did not stop the leak.
