Default Power steering pully squeeling?

I had this bad squeeling after warm up and only at idle, found my water pump was making the noise. Yesterday I replaced the water pump and the serpentine belt and after reassembly it made no noise. After I drove home I had a slightly quieter squeel still coming from the belt area. Checked to see if I got a bad pump but it is quiet. Performed the screwdriver to the ear trick on the tensioner and water pump, did not hear any noise from either one. Put it to the power steering pump and get a mechanical noise but not really a squeel per say. When I put my ear to this area of the engine I would swear it is coming from the Power steering pump bearing.
I am a Audi tech so I am familiar with hunting down noises but felt I should defer for more advice.

Anyone else had this happen? Search yielded alot of water pump and tensioner recommendations but I checked the tensioner and it seemed ok to me and after a touch of wd 40 to the power steering pump it seemed to quiet down.

what type of fluid are you using currently? try swapping it out for some of that awesome Lucas synthetic fluid, not the stop leak. Turkey baster is the way to go.

Given everything I stated you think it might be fluid? I am using the recommended ATF from the manual.

$7 vs. buying a new pump. i would go with the Lucas and let it grease everything up and see if it helps.

I will concede your advice and give it a try. I have been putting off flushing or changing the fluid as the lines and box are leaking. Just like most LR Discos right?

ATF is the proper fluid for DI. DII's use regular power steering fluid.

well if you are leaking fluid then you need to take care of that. if its just making sounds thats a different ball of wax. clean everything off and find where the leak is coming from

I did that once but did not follow up. I have 5 cars, and maintenance sometimes escapes me. I was considering getting a rebuild kit for the box, I also read there might be dirt in there so I am going to try and blow out all the pulleys today and see if that helps as well.
