Default Power Steering Pump

I changed the power steering pump on my 1999 DII. I changed it bcuz the pulley popped out on the original one. The problem is that my steering wheel is very hard to turn. What's else can be the problem?

Do you have fluid movement in the reservoir with the engine running? Did you bleed the system of air after changing the pump?

Did you bleed the air from the gear box and new pump? As already asked, do you have fluid swirling in the fluid botle, if no you either have a bad pump or air in the lines.

To bleed: With the engine at operating temperature, have an assistant turn the steering wheel from lock to lock repeatedly while you loosed the bleed screw at the top of the steering gear allowing air to escape. While doing this, make sure the reservoir remains filled and doesn't run dry, lest you have to do it all over again.
The bleed screw is on the top of the steering gearbox just to the side of the large nut in the center of the top of the gearbox.
