prop shaft = driveshaft. There are 2 of them. The rear has one u-joint and a rotoflex (depending on your year) the front has 3 u-joints and a centering ball (also depending on your year) The u-joints and centering ball can be replaced, there is no need to replace the whole shaft, unless you do some heavy offroading and want to beef up.
