Default Proverbial first Clunk 99 D II

Wifes Disco has developed a clunk. My Indy thinks it's sway bar links, but it seems more severe and is feels like it's under my Butt.

Is there a "first" bushing or mount to fail?

Should I be premptive and replace them all? If so OEM or Urethane?

Heading in for inspection soon and figure I'll get some additional work done while it's there.

Thanks in Advance,

Jeff

When exactly do you feel the clunk and while doing what?

MIke,

Typically feel the clunk when traversing uneven terrain AKA crosing a curb at an angle, also driving over a rough stone parking lot. Do not really feel ot on smooth road.

The car also wanders a bit more than it did at 80K when we bought it.

Hmm, Seems to be more noticible at low speed. Does not seem to come from acceleration or deceleration. But you seem to notice it more when the wheels are turned as you traverse uneven terrain. I live way out in the country so the roads are not as manicured as surburbia, transitions to parking lots and cross streets have bumps and broken pavement all cause the clunk. If you hit it straight on not so bad but diagionally you get it. Sway bar mounts and end links appear good with a causal look laying on the ground. I have had bad end links before on other cars and they make a clicking noise compared to this clunking noise.

Found it!

Took it to get new tires and had them investigate.
They heard the clunk but could not find it. Figured an alignment would flush it out???

This afternoon I started rocking the truck back and forth and heard the clunk.

Had my wife continue the rocking while I investigated.

It's the weird panhard rod thing on the rear axel. the pivot point that has 3 joints has 2 that are bad.

OEM or Poly replacements??

Anyone do thses as a repair and exchange with core charge?
