"My question is what do need to get to get all the superlocks back in working order. is this a different actuator that needs to be purchased?" I replaced all my door actuators with new ones, learning how the whole system works, how to remove and install the actuators, etc. To answer your question: No, the superlock portion is not a separate unit, but is a secondary portion contained within the common door actuators, so replacing actuators solves door lock and superlock problems at same time.

I have a very similar situation for my Discovery II 2003. The key and panel button only works for the driver door and back door. Occasionally the key works to lock the other 3 doors, but never works for unlock the other 3 doors by key or the button on the front panel.

Could you post a step-by-steps instruction (pictures always help) how you went through in replacing the latch/motor assembly ?

Thank you very much !

Tony

My 2004 Disco came with failed LF and RF door latches. I just bought two new ones and had them installed by the tech I bought the truck from.
I also used a T4 to disable speed-controlled locking and switched SPE (single-point entry) on to avoid premature wear on the lock actuators. I'd rather replace the driver's actuator than the other four just because of wear.
If your door lock cylinder has no resistance when turning, either the spring is broken, or the connecting rod from handle to door latch is broken. Order a door handle.
And superlocking isn't enabled for NAS Discos.
I can only enable it if I take the truck out of NAS and put it into ROW mode.

I was able to remove the latch&motor assembly out on my D2 2003. I chose to take the window frame out, following the raver's manual (cross reference many excellent discussion on this forum).

I wouldn't suggest not to take the window frame out --- all fairly straightforward.

Do suggest to get a panel pryer tool.

!! Note: On (my) rover's manual, "Doors -> Repair -> Glass, front or rear door", Step 8 remove bolts secure frame to door: It does not clearly indicated the bolts that right below the mirror but iinside...

Parts ordered and on the way - regulator $49, actuator (front passenger side) - $128

Hello!

So my front right (passenger's door) door lock actuator seems to have died. I just replaced the rear/cargo door/gate's for $170 (part) from the "local" dealership.

My right (passenger's side) rear door lock is very slow and sometime non-responsive so I'm thinking it's going too.

I'm thinking about just buying all four for the passenger doors...wish I could find a bundle for a better price.

I see some people have suggested paulgrant@mac.com, or 203-770-1699 - maybe I should check with him for prices and shipping to Canada...

Comments? Suggestions?

Thanks!

TDC

I have no idea what "mode" my 2004 Discovery is, but it DOES have superlocking. That is how it was when I bought it, and that is how it is today.

When I bought my door lock actuators, I bought them online from PartsGeek. I later learned that they were identical brand and type as sold by the dealer, but about $30. less than dealer price, for same actuator.
