Quintessential DII Alarm issue?
You might have a bad door/ hood switch. If you disarm and still have a flashing LED, it's an indication that a door was opened while the system was armed.
A faulty switch could mimic an open door, triggering the alarm.

My horn never sounds when i lock the truck, i have to listen for the locks or watch the lights, although after I had my power steering pump replaced, the horn sounded for two days, then went back to not sounding. same results whether using factory fob or keyless fob for my remote starter.
It doesn't stress me out too much, my VW passat did the same thing for the last few years I had it, keyless works but no horn sound. It seems every brand I like has electrical demons.

Thanks. Yeah, I suppose I could have a faulty switch. The back hatch door lock has been acting up lately - I think I remember a piece falling out a while back (?!).
The alarm worked yesterday perfectly without sounding when I used the fob. Today it sounds but locked all of the doors and engaged the flashing light. I'll just deal with it. As long as it locks I can go with the flow..
