Anyone raptor coat that stupid $400 window cowl that breaks all the time? I have a pretty new one and im thinking of coating it in something so it never beaks again.. Ive also thought about just making one our of fiberglass or something.. id like to see others ideas on protecting these gems lol and all the british plastic bits... really makes them look trail ready with cracked plastic though ... hmmmm lol

That looks sharp - nice work! I may have to attempt the same.

I can't remember where I saw the conversation but someone was talking about making these brand new out of carbon fiber. He said he was working on setting it up with his son or something for a side-hustle for him. If I remember right he ballparked the cost at about $400. I've searched this forum as well as LRO and I can't find the thread. I'd love to check in with the guy and see if he got it going or was going to abandon the idea. I don't want the carbon fiber look so I'd paint it, but I'd sure like the strength! Did I dream that discussion or does anyone else remember it?

Yes, I always coat with a bed liner because it has more UV resistance than normal paint. I wrap the A pillar and C pillar covers in vinyl to both protect from UV and hold them together as they embrittle with age.
