I bought a new windshield cowl from AB a couple of years ago and was never happy with how wavy it was once installed - there were gaps between the rubber seal and the windshield.
I have since found 2 cowls that were in really good shape while hunting for odds and ends at local Pick&Pulls. I decided to strengthen one of them to see how it may hold up over time. Here's what I did.
1 - Added some fiberglass to the back side to keep it from eventually cracking.
2 - I reinforced the tabs that hook under the bottom of the windshield with JB Weld plastic bond.
3 - Coated the fiberglass patches with black FlexSeal paint.
4 - I painted the exterior with SEM Trim Black using their Adhesion Promoter and then I replaced the rubber seal with a larger/thicker edge seal I bought off of Amazon - I also put the same edge seal around the inlet for the cabin fan - posted this in an older thread. Link to edge seal -
