Rear Climate control issue
We live in AZ, so we use the a/c almost year round. We got this disco a few months ago, everything works properly in the front of the car. In the rear, the fan blows, the orange light is on, but no cold air. The switches and buttons seem to be working, any suggestions?
Welcome to the forum and to the DII family.
If you haven't yet done so I recommend you download the DII workshop manual (aka the RAVE - Rover Automated Viewing Environment). It includes description and operation info for all systems in the truck, plus specs, maintenance info and repair info. It's linked in my signature line.
My truck has rear air like yours so I was interested to read the RAVE and see what the problem might be. Unlike so many topics discussed here I don't recall seeing this one in my now eight years here. And I know just enough about A/C to be dangerous.
The rear A/C system is simpler than the front. The refrigerant flows to and from the back as part of the same system that supplies the front and there is a separate evaporator, but the back doesn't have any of the relatively mechanically complex baffles that direct the mix of cooled vs. uncooled air like there is in the front.
According to the RAVE, "The thermostatic expansion valve ... regulates the flow of refrigerant through the evaporator in proportion to the amount of heat being absorbed from the air." Since the expansion valve is the only thing controlling how well the rear A/C cools it seems to me that the one in your truck may be stuck in a closed position.
If that diagnosis is confirmed replacing the valve will require evacuating the system before removing it and then recharging the system after the replacement valve is installed. That's work best left to a pro with the correct equipment.
p.s. I enjoyed your video, especially "The Ecstasy of Gold" soundtrack.

I am fortunate enough to have front, rear and back aircon on my D2. The recharge requires 920 grams plus the oil charge. It should be on and running when recharging is undertaken as it relies on the same system as the front aircon, in fact, it's the same system albeit it has a rear blower and separate A/C settings in the passenger area.
