Default Rear Suspension Knocking?

I found this thread message:
Is your truck lifted, if so it "could" be your rear shocks are "topping" out, usually occurs over bumps and with a lift and on the rear of the vehicle.

-I have 2" OME lift and will that cause shocks to top? What is the remedy? I hear them getting loud even on small bumps and puddle and sound like dribbling from the rear. Advice needed.
Thanks

what spring to you have on your lift. If you are not "loading" the springs with the minimum rated weight you can cause this scenario...I swapped out my heavy duty constant for medium duty once I stopped traveling with enough weight and the ride became so much smoother. Just a thought.

Makes sense. I think i have this same issue. I bought the truck used the previous owner removed the air bags and replaced w/ springs. The truck def has a lift (2") not sure if they just replaced the springs and left the stock shocks in. But, every time I turn to go down my driveway the rear of the truck makes this awful knocking when its rocks back-and-forth.

Maybe it's time for new suspension all around

If you are running a medium or HD OME suspension, their OME Sport shock ar plenty long enough to prevent over extending .
More likely you have a rear bushing issue, be it the Watts bushing, shock bushing or trailer arm bushings.

I'm running with a 2" medium OME. I am wondering if there is a softer ride for a 2". Checked the shock bushing or trailer arm bushings in Atlantic British and none for Disco 2. Where to get? thanks

call justin at lucky 8.. but you need to know what springs you have front and rear... there are little tags on the springs themselves that have numbers.. 761, 762, etc.. get those first as they will let others know their weight designation.. Justin will be able to get you sorted out with the right springs for your needs and weights.

Why are you wanting soft, have you ever driven a Disco with a medium duty suspension? Going softer give you an uncontrolled top heavy feeling when driving. Now if all you are going to do is drive around town and you are not wanting a lift then just buy the OME Sort shock which will greatly improve your ride. If you still have a noise then you will need to have someone help you find the bad bushings or possible broken spring.
