So, anybody out there ever bought a rebuilt tranny from Roverland?

Why do you ask, what is wrong with yours?
I know a number of people who have purchased from them with great results.

Tranny to radiator hose ruptured. Dumped all my fluid. When I saw the smoke, I immediately put it in neutral and stopped. Trailered it to the shop, The hoses were replaced and all seemed well for a few days, but it quit shifting. On further inspection, found that the clutches are burnt and I would need a rebuild. The Roverland tranny is a better deal than I was being offered on the rebuild, but then I saw a post from you, Mike, about Will Tillery having some. Spoke with him yesterday. I think I'm going that route.

Your old fluid (which escaped) contained some of the missing clutch particles. It was probably dark, and particles would show up on a white paper towel. Even as a "slurry" in fluid they provided some traction between the other disks that had become worn. New fluid diluted all that, perhaps had a little left from inside the torque converter. You just speeded up the "discovery" process with the blown line. Also, with the tranny oil temp sensor located on the oil line, you may not have gotten a warning light when it first started miles back.

BTW - how much were you quoted for a rebuild?

$2400.00. Roverland has a rebuilt for $1495.00 with a 6 month warranty. Tillery has one that has been gone through and had filters replaced, with torque converter and a 6 month warranty for $500.00.

So in your experience, or anybody else's out there, buying from Will Tillery is a good way to go?

Dismantlers and parts guys don't last long if they don't deliver the goods, and complaints can build up here and elsewhere at an exponetial rate.
