Default Recent 2 din stereo install thread

There was a fairly recent thread where someone installed a 2 din stereo. They moved the climate control unit down enough to squeeze it in, and took pics so we could see the outcome.

Looks like I may be performing a similar op in the near future, I've been searching and can't find it. Can y'all help?

Check post by Robert Booth, he and I both installed Pioneer NEX, 2 din head unit. We went different routes, and I think his looks better, but takes some fabricating,

I can help out with info on the parts you will need. I just need to know, if you have high-line stereo with factory amp, diversified antenna, steering wheel controls, reverse camera, etc.
I will have to tell you, having Bluetooth, iPhone or android connection, sdcard, and solid state drives hooked up is awesome. Let me know what head unit you are going to install also.

Perfect!

Thanks for the offer to help; I need to do a fair amount of research before I commit.

Thanks very much!

Mordo,

Just a thought.. how about a single DIN with a motorised flip out screen.

Lots of options and a much simpler install.

Honestly, I'm less worried about the model than the installation process. I'll have to decide what capabilities I need vs the cost.

I really just need FM radio and probly mp3/flac support (with a USB port). I'm not so worried about bluetooth or phone support.

Why not go with a single DIN size if that is all you need and use the spacer available to fill the remaining 1/2 DIN?

That's a good idea. I kind of want to relocate the ac and use a 2 DIN stereo solely because the cup holder is such a POS. But it's probly not worth the effort in my case.
