Default Remove the swollen lug nuts

I thank everyone. Does anyone have any ideas how to remove the remaining 15 of the swollen or damaged lug nuts currently on my vehicle? My mechanic who brought this issue to my attention did so as a result of fixing a leak in my tire. They were swollen beyond the standard 27mm or 1-1/16. He was able with force to remove all but one and then he had to chisel the top cap off the remaining lug and expose the actual lug and then was able to remove. This is a pain in the ####??. Any thoughts?

I use a 1 1/8" socket. I have also lined up the 27mm and beat it in with a brass hammer. Then you have to wiggle it off with the lug still on the stud.

x1 I reckon it's the only and final option. If possible use an impact 6 point socket manually with a breaker bar. Spray the lug nuts with release oil (penetrating oil) the night before and again 1 hour before you attack them. Problem with shrouded LR nuts they look pretty but corrode between the lug nut and the s/s shroud. They modified them on the LR3 and RRS wheels. I keep mine soaked in copperlease to avoid this problem as the road salt gets at them particularly after a tire shop has distorted the shroud with an impact air wrench. It's a real PITA, good luck.

I used a Snap-On flank drive socket on my lug nuts. The flank drive grabs the flats of the nut, not the points.

Any brand example? Would it be much trouble for you to take a quick look on eBay and give me a quality example? Thanks, Gordon

I have a 1 1/8" 6 point impact socket for my current set and a 1 1/16 for my new set but I'm scared to put them on my truck figuring some moron will use an impact gun on them.

Some (mastermind ) had done the same to my lugnuts with impact gun before I buy the truck, I did exactly what abran is telling U, put grease on lugnuts so you don't scratch them too much and pound 27mm socket in and wiggle up/down & side to side out a few times until socket goes in and out easy. Fill nuts with grease like suggested above to prevent from corrosion later. Mine fit the factory tire iron perfect now. And never let any tire shop or mechanic use a gun to loosen or tighten them again. Don't be ashamed to tell them not to use a gun.
