Default repair estimate?

ok, first off - an apology. i just KNOW that there is at least one thread about this but i got outsmarted by the new search function. so im gonna ask again.

2000 disco II w/140k miles

needs new head gasket. i know the parts are around $200 (including new head bolts.)
what i need to know is what is a reasonable shop rate for this - non dealership - as in $/hr
and how many hours for R/R is reasonable.
assuming of course that nothing else is wrong once we open it up.

thanks -
brian.

btw - wouold i be better off just having the whole damn thing rebuild or just the head gaskets?

The labor fora 2000 without SAI is 10 to 11 hours at what ever the shop charges which could range from $1000 to $1200 in labors plus any additional sublet for heads.

Yes, along with a new t/stat and upper hose assembly if you haven't already up-grade to the new system with the relocated bleeder screw.

T-stats are good until they go bad, since you just replaced yours last year I would not worry about it.
