I replaced the coolant reservoir and notice this hook up behind it it looks like it goes to the throttle is the line suppose to have a connection to the boot. This is a 2004 discovery II.

If you are talking about the accordion boot, that covers a cable that is connected to the cruise control diaphragm.

I paid $260 for the tank, a private Land Rover repair shop in Roswell, Ga has them custom made.

No it has a shelf inside to that is used as a indicator for the reservoir when it’s full. But you can’t see unless you crack the lid.

For $260 it better bleed the system itself and monitor the engine temperature.
Looks cool tho. Is it an AlliSport?

I can see an issue! How do you check at a glance whether there is coolant in the header reservoir (when hot) and whether the water pump is circulating the coolant correctly OK. Alloy header tanks have been around for most vehicles and have been for years and most suffer the same issues.

Seems expensive!

No it was custom made by a local Land Rover mechanic shop. Or at least that’s what they told me. It was a lot more then I wanted to pay but I needed something quick and this was available.

Make sure if you get the Allisport unit to get one with the lower nipple unless you completely bypass the intake line/TBH.
