Rough idle, ticking sound and vibration?!?!?! What is going on?
Hi
I may have found the problem, the valve cover gasket is comming out, and i got a MAF Fault code, could this slove the rough idle and vibration.
thx

The v/c gasket won't cause the engine to idle rough.
What fault codes do you have that makes you think your MAF is bad, do you use a K&N air filter?

Get a compression check done. There have been numerous incidents of head gasket gasket failure that causes a "whistle-type" noise at idle from the affected cylinder. The noisewill change with rpm. And--of course-- the engine will run badly (vibrate and throw warning lights) when in this condition.

Hi
I am not using K&N filter, and the noiseis not a whistel its more like a pressurized air comming out in short burstand it dissappear when acclearated. And head gasket seems to be fine.

This is a strange one, I wouldn't worry about the head gaskets, if your had one that bad that it was noisey, your engine wouldn't run at all.

I still say check the exhaust.
On a cold engine, start it, and feel areoung the mainfold and pipes on the side the noise is coming from. Be careful not to get burned, it gets hot quick, but there could be a hair line crack that exhaust is escaping through. Also, if you cat is getting plugged, it will make the backpressure greater, causing the sound to be worse.
Just my thoughts..
Goodluck!
