Sai
What is the downside to not reinstalling the SAI? I have a non SAI 4.0 to replace my SAI 4.6 and I can swap the heads and reinstall all the SAI stuff, but if it is just busy work, I would rather not do it.
I believe you will have to reprogram something so that the truck doesn't throw codes and lights at you.
You'll probably want to remove all the other parts of the system too, not just the pipes on the heads. All told, the delete seems like it would be nearly as much work as reinstalling.

I did it to my last one because I just got sick of all that useless junk.
Its gonna throw a 1412 code about every 8 starts and give you a check engine light. You have 2 options to deal with it.
1. Ignore it and clear the check engine every once in awhile.
2. Get a non sai set of matched ECU/BCU/Gauge cluster and swap out. I have found these sets for $100 but many parts guys ask up to $250.

Thanks, I have a ODBC and will be happy to clear the code every time the check engine lite comes on. I wonder if there is a way to plug a device into the sensor circuit connector that will give a correct reading to the computer.
No way to do that, the computer looks for airflow down the exhaust manifold during startup to light off the cats. Without SAI it won't see it. As said before you can either swap out the ecu/bcu/inst cluster or have a shop flash a non-sai engine vin in to it.
