SAI operating temps
Hey everyone,
Quick question. I was reading the RAVE and just wanted to confirm, the SAI pump will only activate when coolant temp is below 131 F and the ambient air outside must be at least 46 F? It's getting quite chilly here and just noticed today and yesterday that on a cold start my SAI has not turned on. I am assuming this is because it is below the operating temp of the SAI per the RAVE?
Thanks for your input.

Do you hear a vacuum cleaner like sound at cold start ups? If yes, you have SAI.
Do you see two tubes going into either end of your heads? Look just above the spark plugs and exhaust manifolds. if yes, then you have SAI.
If you're still not sure, Google it.

You don't have SAI??
You want it??
Sort of like-
Do you want a root canal?
SAI will come on - in the morning in a temperature band
when it is 55 to about 80 or so.
And most of the time.
SAI may come on after the first 10 minutes too - when you are in traffic just for a second.
Today - my SAI did not come on in the morning at all and it may have been 45 degrees out.
I dislike the SAI.
More reasons to LOVE a Discovery I.
Who needs more things to break and to make CEL come on?
Try to change headgaskets with SAI?
And you must remove the "gas pipes" and they break...
