I used a sharp razor blade to cut it off. Use enough pressure to slice the old hose open but not to cut into the connector itself.

JUKE179r, has your pump continued to run more frequently than you remember or has that behavior abated? I know the system goes into self-test mode occasionally but recently I've been noticing my pump come on at red lights to. As soon as I press the accelerator the pump shuts off. Last night I barely came to a full stop and the light changed, I don't think the pump even got up to full speed by the time I pressed the pedal and it shut right off again. I don't remember this happening as often. I noticed it about a month ago and then it disappeared, after not having it really happen at all in the last year. And then I've heard it over the last two nights.

I don’t know why the pump turning on at stops problem suddenly stopped for me. My SAI pump works great since I posted about it back in August. I didn’t change anything in the SAI system or the electrics (I only installed an alternator).

These trucks are weird...

OK, thanks for the response. I'll continue to monitor/ignore it for now.

I know this is old but I was looking to do this exact thing. Thank you Juke!

Is that mod CARB compliant? I know the smog station always inspects the emission components under the hood visually.

CARB compliant?
I’ve passed the annual MOT inspection here in England even after I did this mod 3 years ago. No issues or advisories from the testing centre.

I removed my hard SAI tubes and followed JUKE179r's directions for the SAI soft tube mod and everything went smoothly!

The only difference is that I ordered the following:

McMASTER-CARR 5133K25 High-Temperature Vacuum-Rated Coolant Hose, 3/4" ID, 1-1/16" OD, 5 Feet Long
Dorman Help! 47118 Heater Hose Tee
