Seafoam induction cleaning
Aint that how its suppose to be done?!? You mean I just spent $750 on 75 bottles for nothing? Awww, man
Next time I do one I will have to get one of the kids out there with the cam when I take off. Seriously, I'm suprised the fire dept dont get calls when I do it
I've seen how much they smoke after doing this, I just do not think ti actually does anything other than waste money.
You are not scrubbing anything, so how is anything actually being removed?
IMO all you are doing is flooding the engine and pushing all the Seafoam down to the cats to get burned up by them and the incomplete combustion of the solvent is what causes the smoke.
I can make my truck, or the wifes car, smoke just by spraying carb cleaner into the intake.

Well, I'm sure you know the theory behind it, althought not physically removing the carbon deposits, it chemically disolves them. Now whether it works or not,???. Never seen before and after pics of valves and intake. But i like to do it once, because although I run 93 octane, I dont know how the first 84k miles was spent.
I know how it is supposed to work, I just am not convinced it does work and that is just my opinion.
I believe it was needed on carburated cars, but I do not think it is needed on fuel injected cars and Click and Clack agree.
And if it gives you piece of mind I will not argue that.
For poops and giggles I am going to use the 3M Induction cleaning kit from AutoZone this spring.
That is a kit actually designed for induction cleaning with special solvents specifically for this purpose.
