As for the tensioner or idler pulley you can get a universal one from a local auto store as long as it is the same size, I think it is a 72mm but I will have to check. You just pull the rubber oring off the old one and re use the bolt, it should be about $20 instead of $80 from AB or anywhere else.

I am sure both Mike and I were not trying to be mean, it just makes it hard when we have to guess at what the issue is with no information. The good thing about these trucks is that the issues are generally very common and just a few details will get you again soon. Good luck with the repairs.

Hey, I've learned more on this forum than I could otherwise hope for, and it has saved my bacon on more than one occasion. From the ABS mods to O2 sensors to CPS (and now water pumps), it has been a great resource and learning experience. I'll risk getting cajoled any day to receive feedback from those who have "been there and done that"!

When you get the new pump installed could you update us, especially if you have a data reading scanner to read actual coolant temp from sensor?
