Default Service engine soon *flashing*

I have had my 2000 Disco II For about a month, which i bought from a friend. It runs great and I love it; however, as I was driving back from Kansas to Oklahoma this past weekend the check engine light started flashing and there was some major hesitation in acceleration. I had put 89 oct gas in it because my friends had told me it was fine and that is what they had used. I pulled off and needed gas anyway so I put 91 oct in it and the problem began to dissipate. it didn't' do it again until the car had sat overnight and then only in the AM. it did not do it this morning and haven't seen the flashing again..could it have just been bad gas? plugs and wires? O2 sensors? i really don't have a lot of cash right now(holidays of course) and if it's something I can remedy, I will. Also, the check engine light is always on (they said it was always on and it's no big deal) but i am going to take it to have the light turned off because how will I know if something really does go wrong right..Please help!! I love this car, i sold my 2009 Saab 9-3 to have it, so I am vested!!
thanks, in advance, for your help.

This is a waste of your time and ours till you go to your local parts store and have the codes read. Do not drive it while the lights are flashing or you will do more damage.
No, the 89 didn't hurt or cause this but you are supposed to run 91 plus.
Get the fault code numbers and get back to us with them.

Default got the codes

well, i got the codes and holy crap.....
they said when i bought it that it had had a tune up but according to the plethora of codes...you be the judge
I will start from the top
P0733; P0734; P0174; P0171; P0130; P1171; P1300; P0303-305-300-301-307-306.
needless to say i am a bit freaked out. i am taking it to a mechanic(not the one they had been using) this afternoon..does it sound like i'm totally screwed?
any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.
J

You're OK, just a bit of work to do...

Here are what your codes mean:

P1300 = Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
P0303-305-300-301-307-306 = misfire codes - last number indicates cylinder (Change your CPK, wires and plugs)
P1171, P0171 & P0174 = System too rich (bank 1) & (bank 2) (Change your O2 Sensors)
P0130 = O2 sensor circuit malfunction (bank 1, sensor 1) (Change your O2 Sensors)
P0733 & P0734 = Ratio monitoring, implausible 3rd gear & 4th gear ratio (Change or clean your MAF Sensor)

After this you should be good to go! Oh yeah, rebuild your front drive shaft.

What would concern me is the majority of the codes are on the drivers side. How many miles on it and have the head gaskets ever been done?
