Default service engine soon light on! help plz!

hello all! my service engine soon light came on yesterday. there is nothing wrong with the performance of the vehicle etc. i went to auto zone an they said the code was PO455. anyone know what i should do and what that is? thanks so much! -Nick (2001 dico 2)

Make sure your gas cap is tight. It must click at least 3 times when you put it back on.
It looks like that is a EVAP code.

i did check to make sure and click it seval times but the light remained on...=/ any other ideas? could the cap just 'go bad'?

Yes gas caps do go bad and the light wont shut off right way. It will take several drives cycles before it shuts off.
The guys at AutoZone can clear the light and then you wait and see if it comes back on.

I had that light on and my guy plugged in the Rovacom or whatever that computer is and got several error codes. We replaced the gas cap, light came back on. Replaced the MAF sensor, light came back on. Smoked the egr system and there were no leaks. Finally there was a valve that is located on the drivers side top of the engine that has something to do with opening the vent to the tank and we replaced that and I"m now about 900 miles with no light. I would try thatvalvesecond if the gas cap doesn't fix it.

There is no egr system on these and a MAF sensor will not set a gross EVAP leak fault just to set the record straight.
