Default SLS problems

My SLS sometimes lowers to the bump stops a few seconds after the truck has been parked and shut off. When it lowers I can hear air escaping from the top of the rear drivers side air spring, leading me to believe that I have a leak and need new air springs. The thing that I don't understand is that half of the time it doesn't leak and the trucks air springs remain inflated. At times I have had the truck parked for a week and it has not leaked. If I had a leak wouldn't it always leak? I don't understand how it can leak just half of the time. I have been trying to sort out this problem for over a month but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hairline crack in "bag" ? You can spray the suspect area with soapy water, and watch for bubbles - works equally well with inner tubes, tires, and Zodiac FC-470's....

Sounds like it is time for 2 new Arnott air Bags as long as the air hose is not loose or cracked.

Yes, it looks like I need new air bags. I am definitely going to check the air hose and connection before buying the air bags. I would hate to spend all of that money and time to later find out that it is something other than the bags. Thanks for the help guys.

When you hear the air leaking out, doe both sides go down, equally or just the one side?

Mike, the drivers side goes down first but after a while the passenger side goes down as well. I have only heard the air leak from the drivers side twice because every other time that I have checked it it has worked fine. It is an intermittent problem.

Remember the SLS exhaust outlet vents into the frame right around the drivers rear wheel. Could be a sticking exhaust solenoid/valve. Would explain why it's intermittent and the sound you're hearing. You can pull the line out of the frame to see if that's where it's coming from.

That really makes a lot of sense. Would you happen to know the part number of that exhaust solenoid/valve. I looked at atlantic british but couldn't find it.
