Default Small Lift?

What is the best way to go to get a little lift for a '04? I would say 2" max. Is OME the only company that makes them? How much and how hard to install? Is it just springs? I want to keep the ride and everthing else the same. Thanks.

I have a 2inch terrafirma lift and I like it a lot. It's not hard to install just four springs and shocks. I can't really notice any change in the ride. I bought it at rovers north. But I have heard you can buy it cheaper from lucky 8llc.com.

i also have a 04' and i swapped my suspension back in early december. its a easy job to swap springs and shocks. if you have good mech. skills figure 3hrs. if you dont figure on an afternoon. only need your stock jack, 2 jack stands and a set of hand tools. nothing else.

i went 2" OME medium set up. its much more firm then stock, but not bad. on road its a tad bouncy but off road where it is supposed to be, it works wonderfully. DO NOT buy an aftermarket lift kit looking for audi suv like ride and handling. your gonna severely disappoint yourself. terrafirma,OME, supergaz etc make OFF ROAD kits. not on road lift kits. just know that.

if you want the exact same ride you have now then you gotta go with replacing the spring and shocks with stock like pieces. you will gain back the inch or so you lost from sag, but you will lose that much more rapidly then you would in a higher ratio spring that you would find in a aftermarket unit.

so it boils down to height for off road usage or height for poser value.

Terrafirma makes a 2in lift for D2, I decided to give them a try. kit comes with springs and 2in longer shocks at all four corners, install was super easy but do consider that longer brake lines and sensor extentions are going to be needed for off road antics.

Go look at Lucky 8, order either the medium duty OME or Terra Firma along with a new steering stabilizer, then watch their video/instructions on doing the install. Do it your self and you will save over $300 labor.
Have you already replaced your front drive shaft to prevent it from failing?
