Default Snap On computer

Does anyone know if a Snap On computer will reprogram a BCU? In chasing my window issue, I am thinking that I will try a scrap yard BCU and see if that fixes it. Or, will it need to be reprogrammed, or will it interfere with putting the original BCU back in if that is that is not the fix.

I have access to a Snap On, but not a nanocom.

Worth a shot if you have access, but my guess is no.

I believe snap on sells packages for a particular vehicle that allow for more in depth communication with certain vehicles but I'm not sure how in depth that would be in the Rover.

The standard package snap on will not even program keys. The race shop next to my shop let me borrow their snap on for a weekend, I wanted to see if I could program keys or reset the bcu as a manual transmission for a future planned engine swap. It wouldn't let me do either. If it's free I'd play around with it but most likely you'll need to borrow/rent a nanocom and you'll have it done in no time.
