Sounds like valves tapping??!!
Yell when you are ready to do the flush and I'll give you a list of stuff to get and you can flush the engine, and do an induction cleaning at the same time.
From hollis's description - My 2003 Disco had the same annoying tapping noise. I performed the ATF engine flush as descibed, replaced the oil / filter this afternoon and wa-la. It worked... no more ticking noise. Engine sounds smoooooooth.
Curious about the induction cleaning?
Thank youeveryone for the advise- very appreciated.

You might want to run some Land Rover fuel system cleaner, its suposedto help remove carbon from the valves. I heard rovers have close tolerances for their valve stem to guides. Carbon build up can make the exhuast valves stick in the guides. I was also told not run any other types of fuel system cleaners in the LR. May not cure your ticking but it should help keep your engine a little cleaner.

I am probably going to do the flush this weekend... Induction cleaning also and I found the Seafoam thread..?? Ill take that list if you got it!! Thanks a bunch disco mike!
so the more I keep reading the more questions I get! lol I think I should drop the oil pan to clean the pickup?? I highly doubt it has been done ever and I found a thread that says that it will clog after a engine flush.. Any other areas to service while I am at it??
