Default Split oil pressure sensor port

During the course of identifying & fixing a total engine oil pressure loss the pressure sensor was replaced. Oil is now leaking from a split in the port. Advice please on how to repair.

How bad is the split? How long is it? That port has 50 psi on it. The sensor is sealed with a washer, very end of the port. If it not too long you could use silicone on the threads and it might seal, cost almost nothing to try. You cold try job weld, but given the pressure I doubt it will work. You can remove front cover and have it welded, or replace it.

Default Pressure senor port splitting

Having split ports on 2 oil coolers, the second with only light spanner pressure, the 3rd has been fitted with its sensor untouched! If it's ever necessary to replace a sensor it will be finger-tight only with silicone sealer to secure it!!

Used front covers on eBay are super affordable. I would go ahead and replace it. Not too terribly involved. Good opportunity to check in on the timing chain and other various bits behind it.
