I recently rebuilt one without a greasable centering ball, but it can be greased upon disassembly.

 

Conclusion: I put the new driveshaft with Cardan joint from Tom Woods on and the noise is gone! Thank you for your help and suggestions. Plus side to this is that I also changed all of the diff fluid which needed to happen anyways.

 

Interesting. Glad you figured it out! That's still a very concerning amount of shavings in the diff though.
