Question Squeaky brakes

By the way, the Pop Pop Pop still happens, no matter I believe its my stock springs. Anyway about the squeaky brakes. It is now a constant problem, when im driving down the road all i hear is "E-E-E-E-E-E-E", and when i apply force to my brakes, that noise stops, so im guessing its the brakes. I went to pep boys and picked up some brake cleaner and throttle body cleaner. I applied the cleaner to all four disc brakes and put all the wheels back on. Cleaned my throttle body. And thought i was in good shape. When i went for a drive, 10 mins into it they started squeaking again. Do i need new brake pads or rotors? Can i do something to stop the squeak? Suggestions? Thanks.

When you had your wheels off did you look at the pads in the calipers and see howthick the pads are. It sounds like yoiu have worn the pads down to the metal backing plate and they are grinding on the rotors. If this is the case you are damaging your rotors. Check the pads and if you have less than a 1/4" of pads left replace them. Check your rotors surface and see if there are any grooves on the surface or if they are smooth. Feel the edge of the rotor is there a lip? Let us know what you find...

Well ive ruled out the pads. Reason being: The brakes squeak when im going below 50mph. When i apply the brakes, then does the noise go away. I think if it was the pads it would make a horrible sound when i applied the brakes. But i could be wrong.

you need to physically get down there and check the pad thickness all the way around the vehicle.

you know there is a problem and simply trying to determine the source from sound and gut instinct is not gonna solve that problem.

you either have a sticking caliper which means you need to clean up the brake caliper that is sticking and re lube the runner pins in the caliper.

or your pads are toast,,, in which case you need to replace both front and rear sets

or your rotors are toast,,, in which case you should just replace all the rotors and pads with new.

If your brakes are squeeking while you drive, you have one or more calipers dragging. Pull everything down, find that bad calipers, rebuild/replace them, change out your pads and rotors if needed and be done with it.
