Default Starter Issue - Did I Dumb?

Hey guys,

So with the limited driving going on the Disco gets a flat battery after a week or so. I decided to be a hero and throw a Battery Brain in the car. I've installed them before in other vehicles. (Reference: https://www.batterybrain.co.uk/produ...tery-brain-t3/) I had everything hooked up working and was buttoning up the car when... in slow motion... I dropped a wrench, it bridged the + and - terminal of the car and now...

Starter relay clicks, but there is ZERO action from the starter. Everything else works as expected. The box, all the usual ON position accessories, etc. I haven't yet gone and removed the Battery Brain as I have been pulled away for dinner, but is there anything easy that I should check? Glanced at all the engine fuses and they look good.

Did I just dumb and blow out the starter? Is there a fuse somewhere in the line I should check?

Thank you,

E

I can’t help you (learning here) but once as a 17 year old with a 130k mike BMW 318is I had the good fortune for the tire lug tool — that they intentionally put on a plastic tray over the battery in the trunk — fall off and do the same thing.

I have never moved backwards so fast in my entire life, fearing the battery was going to catch the trunk on fire with all the sparks, which was right next to the gas tank and all of this sitting in my parents garage...

Hope you can get it sorted :/

Check main fuses and your battery might be toast

I tried the jump box across the terminals but no joy. Fuses in the engine bay looks fine. Is there anything specific or anything in the passenger compartment fuse box I should check?

Thanks!
