Default Steering problem ???

Iwas driving my 01 Discovery on the highway (at about 60mph) andall of the sudden the steering went out ofcontrol. Once I slowed downconsiderably, it was fine, then it started again anytime I got up past 40mph. The tires are fine. Does anyone know what this could be?

Take it straight to your Rover shop, if you are unable to crawl under and see any problems. This is a saftey issue that you don't need to mess with.

Thanks. Aside from this issue, has anyone noticeddifficulty with steering on the highway in general? Maybe due to the wind? Or just the high speed?

Default RE: Steering problem ???

Hello, I'm the owner of the Disco that "Rsweet" is discussing. Today, I had my friend (certified mechanic) jack up the truck& inspectunder it. He then testdrove it up to 55mph & he couldnt find anything wrong with it. However, I called the dealership & they cant get me in for another week. I just want to make this car reliable to drive & get all needed maintenance /service completed. The Disco has 73k miles on it (I bought it w/ 68k in Feb 07), just got its 60k service completed (not sure if it was done by previous owner so I did it), had a new drivetrain installed @ 63K (completed @Louisville LR dealership by previous owner) & thats about it. Is there anything else that I should do or be concerned about? I have noticed thatit doespull considerably when being driven on the highway. Is this normal?Someone mentionedgetting an Ironman Suspension STEERING STABILIZER. What does this do? Should i get one? Sorry for the elementary questions. I'm a newbee to the LR world. Thanks in advance because I'm sure I'll have more questions.

I had a employee had the same problem, he had tires that had 12K on them .
It was a tire it had separated on the inside and the tread started to bulge, its hard
to find . I would look again at the tires.
This happend yesterday.
Good Luck.
