Yes, they have variations, with aluminum or copper. I was speaking of the plain jane brown syrup. I certainly agree that while they are a short term fix, they can have other consequences, you can't turn off physics or chemistry in different section of the radiator and cooling system. You can find plenty of posts where these products saved the day, and others where they made things worse. My luck has tended to be "worse". Add this to a sludged up Dexcool "dexmud" radiator and you'll have more heat than you like.

Well, that it itself can be a problem, Don't obssess about a couple of degrees one way or another. Look for long term trends, like over several miles, etc. Let your co-pilot take the readings. Post back after the trip. And follow this over time. If truck is used to 195 on highway now, compare in summer, etc.
