Default Strange problem on Discovery 99 SD

Hello everyone,

I have a Discovery 1999 SD "Series 1". Just happening now, it'svery hard to start. The electricity, lights and radiocomes on fine, but there is no sound at allfrom the engine. The red SRS light on the dashboard comes on.I have to turn the key several times and really ram it in, and after a dozen tries the engine starts and is fine. Then I notice the speedometer, RPM, odometerand enginetemperature needles and tumblersare no longer moving. The lights on the dashboard work fine.

Is this some sort of electrical problem? What connects the engine temperature, speedometer and RPM needles, and the odometer tumblers together?

By coincidence, I had a guy from Safelite replace my front windshield today. I had to unlock the door from him, but I didn't give him the key. So I don't think he did anything to the electrical system.

Anyone know what might be happening?

CHECK YOUR FUSES IN THE ENGINE BAY FUSEBOX, INCLUDING THE LARGE FUSEABLE LINKS. IT COULD BE YOUR IGNITION SWITCH, ALSO.
