Default Surfboard rack advice for Disco 2

My D2 has the standard (i.e. short) roof rails. I’d ideally like to install my Yakima crossbars and supdawg carrier to carry 2-3 boards, including a 9’6” longboard. Given the length of the longboard, my gut feeling is that the short roof rails + those crossbars aren’t going to be a safe way to transport them.

I’ve looked around for the extended roof rails that were once available but can’t find them. While I said I could ideally reuse my Yakima stuff, I’m not married to reusing my existing crossbars (I don’t even really care about the board carrier that much. Pads and straps would be fine. It’s just more stuff I’d have to deal with selling.), but I also don’t need or want a $1000+ Baja rack or roof basket. I’d also prefer to not have to remove the headliner. I found these, price is decent but I don’t think I’ve ever seen rhino racks in the wild: https://www.etrailer.com/p-RL150S13-2.html

Digging a little deeper on the rhino site, it seems there’s a way to use their version of aero bars rather than the heavy duty ones.

Has anyone used rhino for a similar application or maybe you can provide other recommendations?

Thanks!

Try toofaroffroad's idea of using an inexpensive contractor rack:

I have a Yakima bar at the back. I lowered the headliner a bit which exposed the existing reinforced areas designed by LR for a rack. I used a cheap crossbar at the front. I’m really happy with the rear rack and the front one does the job.

The cheapo van racks work fine with modification to the rail mounts and I run them for transporting 4 x 8 sheets of building material but if budget were no issue I would go with Frontrunner load bars.

Theres a set of extended roofrails on the offerup app in las vegas.
Listed a week or two ago, thought about grabn em myself but decided against.
Maybe you could work out a way to get em shipped with the seller.
They have em listed for 60 bucks
