Default T-case end play...

Ok,
How much pay is tolerable for the front driveshaft? When I park on a slope and engage the parking brake, I get about 3/16ths of rotation from the front driveshaft (on the diameter of the couplers). I know Rovers have some play, but I was wondering if I needed to replace my front assembly. I have some whine, but if the T-case is in diff-lock or I lightly apply the parking brake, it goes away. I am planning on doing the U-joints on the rear drivshaft......
Thanks,
Jason

Jason,
When put a Disco into park on a hill, a little rotation is normal, I don't think I would loose any sleep over that. As for the whine, still normal, if you want to slow the whine down, changed the gear oil in the t/case switching to a 85W/140 syntheic gear oil, this will give you much better wear protection and quiet the noise down a little.

Thanks Mike, I changed over to the 85W140 at the beginning of spring. I had 75W90, but just wanted a little heavier...

I just get nervous about the driveline grenading while I am out..
