Default Is there a low range LT 230 kit?

I've been on the Internet a lot over the last 24 hours researching LT230 T case low & high range ratios. I believe my D2 case is 1.2 high & 3.2:1 low.

In the past Ashcroft made an underdrive no longer offered. Great Basin Rovers in SLC offer a 50% reduction on the same LT230 which if I understood correctly is a 5:1 low range. You won't find it on their website but if you speak with Bill he has 100 cores laying around and orders the gears from Australia. I ordered a locked LT230 with those reduction gears in February and each and every time it's 2 weeks more, now 3 weeks. The story is he's lost 6 employees?? I definitely feel for small businesses but this feels ridiculous. Seems like he's the only source these days?

Does anyone know of another viable option?

I suspect there are some that will say 3.2:1 is plenty low, but out here in the West I want to do trails like John Bull, Dusy Ershim, Forsyth and the Rubicon.

There are underdrives still around but man you better be ready to cough up some serious coin to get one. Personally I think reducing the low range alone would leave you in a middle ground and constantly be shifting from low to high vs just being in low the vast majority of the time. Being in CO and frequent trips to Moab I've yet to truly wish I had a lower low range.

Ashcroft does not sell low range gears unfortunately. I guess search for an Aussie company that makes them and have someone local to you build the tcase for you with the gears you source? Another thought, if you regear at the diffs this will impact your final drive outputs and may put you closer to the reduced low gears, unless I have my effect on the gearing backwards.

I had nightmare issues with GBR Diffs, 2 Detroit lockers imploded. Bill did take care of me but however it was REALLY slow turnaround and not good communication...

That is unfortunate to hear. Bill is a nice guy with full of information. I was hoping to do the diff ratio swap in the future.
