When i bypassed mine, i didn't even bother with the plastic hoses. Just get yourself a few feet of hose that will take the high temps and run from the block directly to the coolant tank. Here is a picture of mine.

Disclaimer***I do stupid things. In no way am i condoning others to do to stupid things with me. If you are worried about freezing throttle, don't do this.

OK. I did it. And I think I did a good job. I got a very similar thickness oil hose (US made and "guaranteed to hold hot coolant without problems) and connected it to the expansion take on one side and #6 on the diagram which I suppose is an offshoot of the main cooling hose. I rerouted #6 back under the intake towards the expansion tank and did the brass connector there. In effect like my new diagram. Looks neater, touches much less engine than it did before. I'll post a pic later when I can.

Now I don't need that hard line I ordered from AB. That'll be worthless.

The D2 is soo much harder to work on than the D1. There just isn't any space around anything to get your hands in. I have a couple little problems I need to get to but otherwise I'm pleased. Let's see.

Jamie -

I didn't see your post. That's just what I did. I've been looking for something like that all week.

I can't see how you connected it in the pic towards the right side....how did you do it?

Oh and I do stupider things than you but I'm not worried about freezing the throttle until the next iceage.

I did mine when i did my head gaskets, so it was easy to get to. There should be a tube there that the hose goes over. Its easy if you can get to it. Mine has been bypassed for years with no issues.
