The new gasket comes with a new plate, and screws, for $30. Not sure if you can use RTV in leu of actual pieces, but here's the kit either way, genuine LR. GASKET KIT THROTTLE BODY P38A RANGE ROVER & DISCOVERY II, RNH761, MGM000010K - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts

You can also bypass it, while waiting on repairs. Prevents ice up of throttle under certain conditions just above freezing. The temperature drops from air flow change on the throttle body surfaces, and really can happen above freezing.

Not much of an issue in land of the Mixmaster this month..

thanks Zack, I forget about those fancy RN diagrams. don't really need to name that part, just highlight the pictures.

thanks Buzz, cool, i didn't even consider bypass. that should tide me over. its not supposed to get to 100 today, so i will cross my fingers and hope for no freezing.

Living where you do, you can by-pass the system and never look back.
Hook both hoses together with a small piece of copper pipe and you"l be set.
