Anonimus, The Pirrellies have many issues. Cupping, pulling, noise, etc. For the price it is unacceptable. Some people have good luck with them. Most do not. BFG's are pretty good as well.

On this topic, I had another question. I'm currently rolling on 245/70/R16s on my 2000 Disco. Are these the standard size that came on these guys? It's seems like the 75s are more common . . .

Hey guys....I had michelin XPC's on my 2000 Disco ACE and I loved them sooooo much that I had the dealer put a set of XPC's on my 2003 Disc BEFORE I even picked the truck up.

They have a really nice agressive tread that is great in snow, mud and sand. I took some off road lessons from a couple of Camel Trophy drivers and they all commented on the XPC's being an awesome tire for that truck.

Last week I picked up my new truck.........05 Range Rover and I would have put XPC's on it also if they made them in the 19" size that I needed. the new truck has 4x4 syncros, and its a little too early to give you any input on these.

The factory GoodYears wear unevenly, cup and are noisy.

I've had no better luck with Pirellis.

I found Yokohama Geolanders to provide better traction on and off road, quieter, and so far the wear seems to be quite good. Oh yes and much more reasonable price as well.

Now if I can only find a shop that can properly balance my 18" Disco wheels. On the machine they seem to be balanced as I watch the technician but then I feel a shimmy, take then back after a few thousand miles and find them off again. I seem to recall reading somewhere that a special 5 bolt offset would make for a better balance. Can anyone shed light here?

Your Dealer has the proper 2 part adapter to balance your wheels.

Thanks for the response. Can a major tire store do justice to the balancing? I am not partial to the local dealer and it is not conveniently located.

I'm running 265/70/16 BFG KO's on my 2001 stock Disco with no problems. Bought them at independent dealer and again have had no probelms.
