Default Tire size

I have a 2000 disco 2 with factory 18 inch wheels. What is the largest tire I can run on this rim without lifting the rover. Thanks in advance. I keep getting different info from the tire guys.

265/65r18 usually. Some guys have some slight rubbing and opt for 265/60r18s, but even the slight rubbing wouldn't cause any issues. I ran 265/65s with no rubbing for some time before I lifted.

Depends on the condition of your coil springs really, but 265/65R18 is about as big as I’d go on the stock suspension.

Ive got the Terrafirma 2" lift and BFG AT KOs (265/65/16) and barely make it with the stock front bumper.

Default '04 Disco II

Glad I came across this thread as I have the same question for my 2004 Disco II and would love to hear more thoughts on tire size changes on stock suspension while not having to do any trimming (measurements according to tiresize.com):
Current:
255/55/18: 29.0" x 10.0"
Possible:
265/65/18: 31.6" x 10.4" (I've seen people say they have rubbing and some say they don't)
265/60/18: 30.5" x 10.4"
255/65/18: 31.1" x 10.0" (is there one that is 31" and a little wider that will fit?)

Thanks in advance!

In case anyone comes across this thread; here's how this turned out:

I ended up getting the 265/60/18 (30.5" x 10.4") Goodyear*Wrangler DuraTrac. There is only a very slight rub on full lock to the right.

Here's what they look like:
