Default Towing with a car dolly

I need to get a project truck home with a dolly. About a five hour trip. I have pulled them 3 hours before with a dolly by just putting the TC in neutral but thought it might be better to pull the rear driveshaft apart at the roto coupler and wire it up to the frame. But I am lazy so is this a big deal or not to just go to N on the TC?

If I’m towing a LR with a dolly the rear drive shaft is always removed or dissconected... NO exceptions.
Good Luck!

Exactly remove the rear drive shaft. I don’t know how many Jeep’s I’ve seen towed to the trail on a dolly behind an RTV only to arrive & find out when they hit a big bump in the road the TC popped back into H/L and quickly blew up.

You can just remove the drive shaft via 3 bolts on the rotoflex side & then just put the washers/nuts back on (bolts stay on rotoflex), then remove the front 4 (I loosen them all before I completely remove the rearend of the shaft from the diff). Then toss it into the parts truck and you should have a trouble free journey.
