Today I tackled a tranny drain-and-fill in my 2001 Disco II. When I was cleaning up, I'd noticed that my trusty Schucks guys down the street had given me Valvoline synthetic Dexron VI instead of III.

I called three different transmission shops here in Boise, two of which knew *instantly* what ZF tranny I had. All three assured me that VI is supposed to be backwards-compatible with VI. One said while the ZF4HP22 can be a bit touchy, they are pretty "fluid agnostic".

Essentialy, no worries if you wanna run VI. I'll let you know should anything develop that shows otherwise...
