When I start my disco2 I get a rough sound and when I put in gear it hesitated then I could feel it catch then sluggish start then she has a rough time going through gears

 

That sounds horrendous. Do you have an exhaust leak? Is that noise your transmission?

You should fix your leak, and verify your fluid is the correct level with the appropriate tools.

If you don't have them, please contact a qualified mechanic

I seriously doubt that's transmission fluid. More than likely the rear main crank seal is leaking oil. Check out this video: https://www.roverparts.com/resources...ces-v8-engine/

You need to get it to a shop and have them drop the transmission to inspect/fix it.

 

Dipstick says oil is full and the liquid is reddish

 

Front seal on the shaft perhaps.
