Default Transmission Fluid?

I did search but cannot find a good definitive answer. Asked Mike in PM and he has not responded. Honestly I would like to know what your opinions are on the best fluid to add to a 170,000 mile 95 Disco. I am doing a fluid swap with filter this week and need to narrow down which fluid is best.

Valvoline maxlife is one option, I stick with the Valvoline products but any good brand will do.

Sorry I didn't get back to you yet.
Vavoline MaxLife is a great way to go. The one thing to watch is the condition of your old oil, if it comes out brown or with a burned smell, then do a second drain and refill after changing the filter so you can get rid of more of the old stuff.
If it were mine, and I do, I would also put a bottle of Lucas tranny additive in there to help keep it shifting better.

I wasn't trying to rip on you Mike.

Just need to do this in the next couple of days.
I was given a can of BG ATCplus from my BG rep
and it came highly recommended.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Or should I stick with Lucas?

actually we just do a transmission flush. Fixes all sixteen quarts. Now this is up to you but you can buy sixteen quarts or get the BG stuff. It fits everything including the newer stuff.
actually you can add the cleaner by draining out a little and adding it to the transmission and then letting it cycle thru. Add the atc plus by adding it to the fluid when you hook up the lines and let it flow. Takes about twenty minutes but set up takes awhile and you have fill up a bit cause you loose enough that the system won't do an entire flush unless its filled. So fill up a bit more until the fluid is filled and turn the machine on and watch the glass dial and you will see the old stuff turn to completely new as it circulates. Then remove it when its finish and top off. Works great. The fitting are number 76 and 31 I believe
