Default Transmission needed advice

I have a 2004 Discovery with automatic transmission. I am not too much of a mechanic but, I have had my share of cars that needed work.
I need some help. When I am driving and the car shifts from 2nd to 3rd you can feel like a hesitation
-->The accelation is constant.
-->It feels like a pulsating hesitation (similar to when you brake on ice and the ABS activate).
-->It is only for about 1 second or 2.
-->Usually it happens only when I start from zero movement.
-->It does not happen every time.
-->My Disco has 80K miles.
-->It feels like a valve shattering to me that is preventing a smooth shift.
-->I asked then to check to see if there was a problem in the software or a loose wire.
-->It has been like that for about 1 year.

I took it to the Land Rover dealer and for a while they told me that it was fine. Last time they told me that the "third gear was slipping under load CL50 transmission" and "Slipping 2-3 gear shift". They wanted to charge me $6,600.00 to replace the transmission.

Any advice is welcome!!!!

I would suggest you have a tranny shop do a complete flush and when reinstalling the fluid have a bottle of Luca tranny additive put in.
Your tranny is all electric in it's operation and sometimes the solenoids and valve body valves will get gummed up.

If after having the flush done, go drive the truck, when at operating temp and while driving normally observe where the shift points are. Final shift and lock up will fell like 2 shifts and occur around 50 to 52MPH.
Let me know how it goes.

Mike, I checked my records and I had the transmission oil changed at the dealer in April. I called and they told me that they did the routine maintenance and changed "all" the fluids this April. What would you advice?

I do not believe they flushed the system but only changed the fluids...Should I do it again?...I am also concerned with the Lucas additive (???)...

Just a fluid change changes only 5 of the 12 quarts in the tranny. If there are shifting issues I would go for a flush and a bottle of Lucas tranny additive.
