Default transmission service question

Whats up fellas, I have a 96 disco and i started to change the filter and fluid today. I drained all the fliud and loosened to pan bolts. I went to drop the pan but couldnt get it past the cross memeber. so I took all the bolts out of the cross memeber but its stuck in there. Do I have to drop the exhaust or does that cross member need to come completly out? Or am I totally doing this wrong. Let me know

You need to remove the Y-pipe and drop the cross member.

Take it in and have it done. I paid my local muffler shop, he does lots of work for me, I buy the parts and he just charges me labor.
