That'll just do codes. But you can go by an auto parts store and they may read for you.

You need to quit going to everybody in town to try and fix your 2 problems. Focus on one at a time, and in your case, the possible over heat, get it resolved and then deal with your Dead MAF.
If you want some help, PM me your number and I'll call you today, walking you thru what you you need to check.
As for your MAF, if the new one does not have the same number on the barrel of the MAF that your old one has, send it back, it won't work.
As for the statement regarding the 1884 code, it actually is a tag along code and it actually covers 8 specific problems, not one as most do. When you resolve the MAF issue that code will just go away.

The shyster that I bought the truck off of put an aftermarket MAF in there.. as far as the model number goes.. I never dealt with mechanics to this extent.. (oil changes only) so i was in the market for the right one.. the original guy i intended on stickin with, sounded way to biased against the truck itself..

Changed the aftermarket MAF that the doobag I bought it from put in.. I used the correct Bosch.. 99% sure that was causing the P1884, stalling and bogging issues on acceleration.. il keep you posted
