Tuff Rok windshield wipers: full rebuild with D2 setup
My D2 came with a D1 kit, and I did not like it at all. Fortunately, the wiper motor gave out and I had a reason to rebuild everything from scratch and to spec. Why would you do it? If your Disco is your daily and you love it. A lot ;-)
Total cost: $285. New LR OEM wiper motor: $180. D2 arms: $50. Tuff-Rok wipers: $50. Special D2 nuts: $5.
Time to install: 30 min. Will take more if you have not done the cowling, plastic a-pillar covers in the past.
Verdict: They workwell and lookgood. Tuff-Roc crew made sure that the installation of the wipers was a bolt-on. The coverage is awesome.
Pros: Form and function.
Cons: $285 for a set of working wipers is a bit steep and that included a few months looking for the LR OEM motor linkage setup.
And a preview of my next project... Restoring seats, interior to brand-spanking new.

I've been considering going back to the D2 wiper arms. The D1 arms just do not apply enough pressure to allow the blades' full length to wipe the glass. It gets hazardous if there is some snow as the blades tend to ride on top of the snow buildup rather than wipe them away. I may give Tuff Rok's blades a try.
@Gripen … to add more windscreen pressure to any wiper arm... take the blade off, take a soup can (or something round with girth) and stick it under the middle of the wiper arm, apply pressure downward to bend the wiper arm slightly, reattach wiper blade and try out.
